Seven years old
The world was a different place
Summer time, finally!
Put on my bathing suit
Everyday, jump in the river
As soon as I woke up
To the family I was the ‘River Rat’
August rolled around
Our annual family camping trip
My favorite time of the year
A week with my best friends
Cousins; Chelsea, Josh, Amanda, Earl, Sean
Brothers; Ryan and Kevin
Over the bridge to Canada
To the Pinery we go
A caravan of cars, packed with tents
Grills, clothes, food, and love
We arrive and its straight to setting up the tents
If only I could just put on my suit
And hurry to the lake
Four adjacent campgrounds
Camps set up, we throw on our suits
A tough climb up the sandy trails
And we are finally to the lake;
“Race you to the water!”
SPLASH! All of us kids having a ball
Always the time of our lives
When dusk arrives we put on our night gear
Kick the can was the game of choice,
“Not it!” “Ali Ali Oxen Free!”
Around the campfire the family gathers
Everyone looking up at the stars
Pitch black with the fire lit
We all watch the meteor showers
Everyone amazed, nothing could be better, life was great
Around the campfire we all sit
Its time to tell spooky stories
“Red Eyes”
Chelsea and I inseparable, snuggling up
Screaming at the top of our lungs
In the woods near by,
Chelsea and I see too glowing Red Eyes
To our daddy’s lap we jump
Having the time of our lives
Ten years later we come to find out,
When Kevin and Earl disappeared
They took a pink towel and two flashlights
Staked out in the woods and turned them on
Scared the shit out of us and gave us a good time
That summer was a blast
No worries, no trouble, all fun and games
In our hearts and our memories
Family; Love; Forever

My life 3*25*10
My life is hectick I am going to lose it! My boyfriend well ex-boyfriend is not being a nice person, my mom still isn't home and I miss her a lot. I moved in with my Aunt Annie and Uncle Earl and they are great. I get dinner everynight and they care a lot about me. I have my own room and I like it a lot, I have a kerfew which is something new, but its not hard to follow. I am a free woman now, 30 more days until graduation and I am out of here! I am going to Cedar Point for the summer and I am going to be working A LOT! I can not wait to finally be making my own money and buying my own things it will mean so much more to me. I can't wait to get my first car either :) We had our first soccer game last night and we lost 0-1 to the freeking Algonac RATS! The first loss of my four years playing. I can't wait for things to shape up in my life, I want to be stress free and not have to worry about everyone else, it's time for me to focus on my life and not everyone elses. I can't wait to go to college and get away from the big mess at home. I wish great things for my family and I want things to shape up so bad. My brother went to jail yesterday and the really pissed me off. He got lucky though and he only got five days, thank god! He is in Oakland County and the time is going to pass by so slow for him, it is a really rough jail to be in too, but I hope that he can get his life back together after he goes. He needs a good kick in the ass and I hope five days will do the job! All in all my life is getting better, soccer is going to keep me on track with school and I WILL graduate, other than that stuff, I am a happy person and I just can't wait to get out of here!

Senior Poem
UNTITLED
As I walk through the halls
With my high school sweetheart
We look back on all of the fun things
School and being young was about,
When I was in first grade I wanted to be like the
Fifth graders, playing tag, climbing on the monkey bars.
When I was in sixth grade I wanted to be like the eighth graders
Hanging out with the boys, being on the school basketball team
And being the oldest. Freshmen year I looked up
to the seniors playing games at the school assembly’s
Being just like the homecoming queen, driving a car. Before I knew
It, it was my time, time for the real world, time to grow up,
Time to put on my cap and gown and walk down the aisle.
I’ve been waiting for this time to come my whole life, couldn’t wait
To grow up, now that that time is gone, ten years down the road, I
Take another walk through the halls, and I miss it. Don’t take your
Days of youth for granted, because one day they will slip away.
Soon it will be time to take care of business, find the real meaning
To life besides the fun and games. Looking back at the
Empty halls I realize my childhood is over, time to
Give my child the life I once lived.
As I walk through the halls
With my high school sweetheart
We look back on all of the fun things
School and being young was about,
When I was in first grade I wanted to be like the
Fifth graders, playing tag, climbing on the monkey bars.

Full Moon Me 1
I am the deep royal blue of Lake Superior
On a clear hot sunny day in August
I am the shape of a heart,
That beats and cares for all of the people around me
I am the sound of a piano
Playing on my wedding day, sounding so beautiful
I am a cougar
Running through a thick jungle, chasing after its prey
I am the song Emily
Loving that one person
And never letting go
I am the number 32
In the prime of my life
Loving my family dearly
I am a 2010 Mustang
Quick to go
And slow to stop
I am a futon
Sometime I'm normal
But I can change whenever I please
I am the infamous North Alaskan King Crab Leg
Bitter, but butter me up and I'm better than ever!
I am a guitar
Rocking out and sounding so bitter sweet
I am Ireland
Looking like a million bucks, and oh so natural
I am a waterfall
I look so sweet in my eyes, but I am fierce and forceful
I am a redwood tree
I am taller and stronger than anyone out there
I am death
You know I'm coming
But no one wants me to show up too soon

Meaningful Poem
June 11
David Lehman
David Lehman
It's my birthday I've got an empty
stomach and the desire to be
lazy in the hammock and maybe
go for a cool swim on a hot day
with the trombone in Sinatra's
"I've Got You Under My Skin"
in my head and then to break for
lunch a corned-beef sandwich and Pepsi
with plenty of ice cubes unlike France
where they put one measly ice cube
in your expensive Coke and when
you ask for more they argue with
you they say this way you get more
Coke for the money showing they
completely misunderstand the nature of
American soft drinks which are an
excuse for ice cubes still I wouldn't
mind being there for a couple o
fdays Philip Larkin's attitude
toward China comes to mind when
asked if he'd like to go there he said
yes if he could return the same day
I like this poem because June 11 is my mom's birthday. She loves relaxing outside on her birthday and swimming in the river. June 11, 1958
